Roadworks that have been causing disruption in Wrenthorpe are expected to be finished today.
During the past two months business owners, residents and motorists have been complaining about the roadworks on Wrenthorpe Road.
But today Engineers from Northern Gas Networks have completed their work replacing an ageing metal gas mains.
The work will help to ensure the continued, safe and reliable supply of gas to people living in the village.
Northern Gas Networks Site Manager, Steve Howard said: “We’d like to apologise to motorists for any inconvenience caused while these essential works were carried out.
“We have now finished the gas mains replacement in this area and will be reinstating the road.
“Once again we’d like to apologise to motorists, businesses and residents for any inconvenience caused by these essential gas works.”
