Stars from TV’s The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent will switch on the Ridings’ Christmas lights.

Kingsland Road, who appeared in this year’s The X Factor, will switch on the centre’s Christmas Lights on Saturday, at 3.15pm.

Before then the boy band will be performing hit songs and signing autographs.

Britain’s Got Talent favourites Twist and Pulse will also perform at the event.

Santa will be there to hand out goodies and there will be appearances from Sid and Scrat, from the film Ice Age, throughout the day.

Ellen Schofield, marketing manager at The Ridings, said: “This has been an exciting year for The Ridings. We aim to see the year out with a bang by hosting our biggest and best Christmas lights switch-on.

“Like last year, we predict the centre to be extremely busy during the grand finale when Kingsland Road will officially switch on our Christmas lights. We have lots of activities going on throughout the day for people of all ages to join in with. This year, we really do have something for everyone.”
