RESPONSIBLE youngsters who lead activity groups for their peers will get the honour of switching on Horbury’s Christmas lights on Saturday.

Shelley Sinar, Joshua Blake, Dominic Ellis and Megan Green, who are part of the town’s Breakthru youth project, will push the button on the High Street at about 6.30pm.

The children all go to Horbury Academy, and each represent different activity groups which are run by Breakthru.

They are part of a youth management committee for the project, which is supported by Horbury Churches Together.

Youth project co-ordinator John Walter said: “The committee is involved in the running of the project and we’re really pleased that these children can switch on Horbury’s lights.”

Entertainment will begin on the High Street at about 5.30pm.
