Councillor Olivia Rowley, cabinet member for children and young people, has said no decision has been made with regards to children’s centres.
Public events and online consultation to gauge the public’s views and to determine the final decision are being held. Doesn’t this sound so much like what went on with the market in Wakefield?
The council sought the opinion of the public but still went ahead with their original decision, totally ignoring the position of the majority of those who took part in the surveys.
Coun Rowley and the council have a policy on what to do with the children’s centres and I wouldn’t be surprised if, regardless of what the public think, this policy does not change, so another public consultation exercise will be a waste of time and money.
