IN reply to the letters regarding the withdrawal of free bus passes to children travelling to Catholic schools, I would like to ask the following question.
I assume the Catholic schools that will be affected have asked Coun Olivia Rowley for her undivided support against this proposal?
She is the chairman of governors for St Thomas a Becket Catholic College and St Austin’s Catholic Primary School.
Surely we can assume that she will do all in her power to ensure the education of Catholic children is not disrupted by this?
I would like to think that the children, parents, staff and governing bodies have already secured Coun Rowley’s support to defeat this proposal.
Otherwise I can only assume that a conflict of her interest may be suspected. Surely she would not let down the religious organisations she has control over.
