Letter - Great station but sad to see cafe go

This week I travelled from the new railway station for the first time since it opened and it’s certainly a station to be proud of.

What a pity though that it’s lost that lovely little cafe, now replaced by all the usual franchises and chains - Subway, Costa-lot Coffee and Greggs, the latter not opening until 7am which is too tight when I get on the 7.13am to London.

To be fair Subway does a bacon sandwich and tea for £2 which isn’t much more than the old place, but I did prefer its bacon buns.

Independent businesses are important. It’s sad the station has squeezed another one out.
