THE football stars of the future were helped by a top coach when they attended a successful training camp at Ossett Town FC.
Ossett Town Juniors held their first junior training camp last week, a three-day event which was run in partnership with Uefa-registered coach James Rourke.
Mr Rourke, who holds the highest Uefa coaching qualification, works for Huddersfield Town’s youth academy and was on hand to help around 40 Ossett kids brush up their skills.
The camp, which ended on Friday, was organised with the help of the White Rose Soccer Academy, a professional body which provides coaching for football clubs and schools.
The children, aged from six to 14, had skills training each morning, with a football tournament in the afternoon at the club’s Ingfield ground on Prospect Road.
James Rogers, chairman of Ossett Town Juniors, said: “The coaching was fantastic. The children really enjoyed themselves and we have recruited several players for the junior side.”
He said the club was on the lookout for new junior players. Anyone interested can contact Mr Rogers on 07891 273553.
