WAKEFIELD Wildcats head coach John Kear is taking no chances ahead of Sunday's Carnegie Challenge Cup fifth round tie at unbeaten National League Two side Barrow Raiders.
Last weekend's 54-16 victory over rivals Castleford Tigers delighted the Wildcats' fans at the Millennium Stadium but Kear has still highlighted areas where his side must improve before the Barrow game.

He said: "There were defensive errors made and a break-down in structure and technique. I have pointed them out to the players and worked on them in training.

"Barrow are an attractive attacking side and we will have to tighten-up to get the result there.

"There is a very good pitch at Barrow that will help us to play our game and of course we will be favourites but the Raiders will be no push-overs."

Brad Drew, Danny Sculthorpe and Aaron Murphy are all available for selection but Ricky Bibey will miss the game through suspension and Jamie Rooney will sit out the game to recover from a slight hamstring pull.

Kear welcomes the return of Drew, saying: "Brad doesn't feel he has got his feet under the table at Wakefield yet and so he is itching to play and get favour with the fans."

And Kear also recognises that a sixth consecutive victory for the 'Cats on Sunday would give his side the momentum going into next week's trip to Leeds Rhinos.

He said: "It will be heck of a challenge at Leeds and there is such a short turn-around that we have already done a lot of preparation for the game."

It will be good to see drew in action at Barrow, I hope we treat them with respect, and play our game plan to the full.
And come away with a good win.
