NORMANTON Knights A picked up the Wakefield ARL Buildbase Cup with what turned out to be a comfortable victory over Westgate Redoubt on Wednesday night.
A five-try haul from the CMS Yorkshire League Knights saw them collect the trophy at College Grove for the first time since 2005.
Luke Pavlitski opened the try-scoring after just 14 minutes before Lee Walker added a second eight minutes later, Andy Ellis adding both conversions to put Knights in control at 12-0 at the break.
Scott Parsons soon added another unconverted effort after the break while Ellis came in to his own in the latter stages, adding two self-converted tries to steer the Knights to victory.
Stu Moran added the only response for Pennine League Westgate on the hour mark.
