WAKEFIELD FC made it six points in four days with victory against Bamber Bridge - and gave UniBond Division North neighbours Ossett Albion a hand in their battle for a play-off spot.
Ronnie Glavin's men only have their pride to play for in their remaining games this season with the top five out of reach.
But the College Grove club continued from their 2-1 win over Harrogate Railway Athletic at the weekend with another never-say-die performance.
Promotion-chasing Bamber Bridge, level on points with Ossett Albion in the battle for the final play-off spot going in to the game, bossed possession in the first half but couldn't find a way by Wakefield stopper Andy Woods.
And Glavin's men delivered a sucker-punch to their visitors in first half injury time as in-form Chris Howarth headed home an inch-perfect Chris Hitchings cross.
Neither side looked threatening in attack at the start of the second 45 but it was Wakefield who doubled their lead just before the hour mark as Tom Denton picked up the pieces to tuck the ball home after Howarth had seen his initial effort parried by the Bamber 'keeper.
Both sides saw chances come and go before the final whistle, but Wakefield held out for their second win in a week.
And the victory was also celebrated at Ossett Albion, who will do battle with the Lancashire club for the final play-off spot in UniBond Division 1 North.
Both Albion and Bridge are level on points going in to their final two matches of the season - with the duo meeting at Albion's Dimple Wells ground on Thursday night (kick-off 7.45pm).
Wakefield will be looking to end the season with a hat-trick of victories when they travel to Mossley on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
Wakefield FC: Woods, Nicholson, Turner, Jackson, Milnes, Laight, Jones (Normaschild 87), Denton, Marchant (Blair 87), Howarth, Hitchings (Ferguson 71).
