Barrow Raiders 6
Wakefield Wildcats 58
PLUCKY Barrow were simply no match for Super League visitors Wakefield Wildcats.
As expected, Barrow did not disgrace themselves in defeat. But, as expected, Wakefield were never in danger of throwing this one away.

Wildcats led 28-0 at half-time. It would have been easy for the travellers to have thought the job was done and taken their foot off the gas.

But, as in the previous round at Salford, Wildcats did a thoroughly professional job and put Barrow to the sword.

The National League 2 outfit was, however, rewarded for their efforts with a consolation try scored by Brad Nichols.

First-half try scorers for Wakefield were Brough, Grix, Atkins, Bibb and Moore with Blaymire (2), Atkins, Brough and Bibb adding to the tally.

Brough finished the afternoon with 26 points from his two tries and nine conversions.

Read Friday's Wakefield Express for reports, reaction and a look ahead to Wildcats' next Super League outing at Leeds Rhinos on Friday night when in-form Wakefield will fancy their chances particularly after the Rhinos were very nearly beaten by Harlequins in their Challenge Cup clash on Sunday.
