WAKEFIELD swimming sensation Danielle Hall-Jackson has received a boost to her aims of competing in the 2016 Olympics by receiving sponsorship from a Yorkshire-based business.
Car dealership JCT600 will support the talented 17-year-old, who’s been included in the British Swimming World Class Development programme, in her quest to make waves at the top level of the sport.
Hall-Jackson celebrated her 17th birthday by receiving a discounted VW Polo Match and free service plan for a year to make it easy for the super summer to travel to training sessions and various competitions up and down the country.
The 2012 London Olympics may have come too soon for the UK’s leading youth distance swimmer but she has her sights set firmly on Rio de Janeiro and the 2016 competition.
And John Tordoff, chief executive at JCT600, hopes the company’s support will help the ambitious swimmer achieve her goals.
“Danielle is ambitious, committed and extremely talented and we hope this support will help her achieve her goals,” he said.
“We are proud to be able to support Danielle in her aim to reach the Olympics and look very much look forward to seeing her progress over the next few years.”
Hall-Jackson is also the National Champion in the 800m and 1500m at under-18 level and has already represented Great Britain as a junior swimmer.
She’s just competed in the Senior European Open Water Championships and has recently been identified by British Swimming as an Elite Athlete.
It’s resulted in her inclusion in the World Class Development programme with the ultimate aim of making Olympic selection in Brazil in 2016.
Hall-Jackson is at a pivotal point in her progression, juggling the demands of full-time education and ten gruelling swimming lessons per week, sessions which often start at 5am.
