Castleford’s Yorkshire Premier League North game against Driffield Town was abandoned at the half way point when well poised.

Only one innings was possible before the rain came down and it saw Driffield reach 195-5 in their 50 overs.

Noah Kelly (84) top scored while Chesney Hughes did most to restrict them with 3-53 from 13 overs.

Castleford seconds also had their match abandoned in Y&DSCL Division Two Ebor and could count themselves a bit more fortunate after they looked to be heading for defeat against neighbours Ledsham.

Batting first, Castleford were dismissed for just 80 as Gopi Chemudupati (24) top scored and Andrew Kelly (5-17) led an impressive Ledsham attack.

Ledsham’s hopes of completing victory were dashed, however, as they could only reach 10-1 in their reply before the rain.
