WAKEFIELD FC continued their impressive run of form with a 3-2 victory against promotion-hopefuls Mossley at College Grove on Tuesday night.
Tom Denton was in inspired form to net a brace of goals and set up another for captain Wes Milnes as Steve Nicholson’s men deservedly led 3-1 at half-time.
Matty Kay had kept the visitors in the game with a controversial penalty, given for handball against Adam Jones, and he also added a second from the spot with 12 minutes to go.
Mossley threw everything but the proverbial kitchen sink at Jan Zolna’s goal in the latter stages but the Bears defence held firm to bag the three points.
The only sour point of a good night for Wakefield was an injury to midfielder Paddy McGuire, who was taken to hospital with a facial injury just before half-time.
