Football: Ossett Town return with Warrington test

AFTER the wintry weather forced the postponement of Ossett Town’s league and cup matches last week, they are now hoping to return to Evo-Stik First Division North action today, Saturday, with a clash against Warrington Town.

When a frozen pitch put paid to the trip to Mossley a fortnight ago, Town were hoping to get back onto the pitch at Ramsbottom United last Saturday.

However, the wintry conditions forced the game to be postponed and it was a similar story in midweek when last Tuesday evening’s Doodson Sport Cup first round clash with Belper Town was called off due to a frozen pitch at Stade France.

The cup tie has been rescheduled for next Tuesday, December 18 (7.45pm).

The break in action has at least given Ossett some time to recover before their home league match against Warrington.

Ossett now boast games in hand over their rivals in mid-table and they will be hoping that the enforced break will give them the edge over Warrington who have not lost in their six games since November 10.
