Freescoring Ossett Town enjoyed a thumping 6-0 victory at rock-bottom Garforth Town in their penultimate Evo-Stik Premier League match of the season on Tuesday night.
The scoreline equalled Town’s biggest victory of the season, against Wakefield FC, and piled more misery on a Garforth side already relegated from Division 1 North.
James Evans fired Craig Elliott’s men ahead in the 13th minute and the floodgates opened.
Wes Milnes doubled Town’s lead five minutes later and a second for Evans, as well as a Mark Whitehouse strike, saw the visitors cruise into a 4-0 half-time lead.
Milnes doubled his personal tally five minutes after the break and Luke Richardson put the icing on the cake with 20 minutes to go.
The victory was Town’s second in four days after they edged out Salford City 3-2 at Ingfield on Saturday in their final home match of the season.
Ossett Albion fell to a 2-1 home defeat against Cammell Laird at Dimple Wells.
Caldon Henson levelled a Jamie Henders opener just after the half-hour but Henders struck his second eight minutes into the second half but give the visitors all three points.
