Huddersfield Town have sacked manager Simon Grayson.
The former Leeds United boss spent less than a year at the John Smith’s Stadium and leaves the club on the back of a 12-match winless run in the npower Championship.
He led Town to promotion via the League One Play-Offs last season but Grayson’s last game in charge was the 4-0 loss at Watford at the weekend that left the club 18th in the table.
Town chairman Dean Hoyle said: “In making this decision, we have thought long and hard. It has been made with both the short term and long term needs of the club in mind. We brought Simon in with the immediate aim to lead the Club to promotion and he did that at the first attempt. It is an achievement for which we are grateful.”
