Ossett Albion picked up a useful point in their battle against Evo-Stik Division 1 North relegation at Trafford on Tuesday night.

The Dimple Wells side led 2-0 at Shawe View before the hosts, who are pushing for promotion, hit back to take a share of the spoils.

Despite letting a strong lead slip the point is still a good one for Albion, who moved a point away from the relegation zone thanks to Garforth Town’s 5-0 defeat at Bamber Bridge.

Tyrone Gay scored to give Albion a shock lead across the Pennines and Caldon Henson doubled the visitors’ lead just before the hour mark.

Andrew Smart pulled a goal back for Trafford ten minutes later and Michael Oates scored the equalised with 18 minutes to go.

The draw leaves Albion six points above the drop zone with five games to play.

Ossett Town failed to build on Saturday’s victory over Bamber Bridge when they went down 2-1 at home against Lancaster City.

Billy McKenna gave Lancaster a half-time lead at Ingfield before Ryan Winder added a second in the 67th minute.

Craig Elliott’s men reduced the deficit through Shane Kelsey but Lancaster held out for all three points.
