OSSETT Albion held their nerve to progress to the quarter-finals of the West Riding County Cup thanks to a penalty shoot-out success against Albion Sports.
Albion were forced into extra-time by their Northern Counties East League opponents on a cold night at the Warehouse Systems Stadium.
Richard Tracey gave the hosts a first-half lead following good work by Tyrone Gay but the second half was a scrappy affair and the hosts couldn’t secure their passage through to the last eight in normal time, with the visitors levelling matters with four minutes to go.
Sports were reduced to ten men in extra-time but Albion still failed to find a way through for the winner.
Penalties were required and the hosts held their nerve to win 3-2 and progress to a quarter-final date at home against Blue Square Bet North side Harrogate Town.
The match is scheduled for Saturday, February 4 at the Warehouse Systems Stadium (kick-off 3pm).
Albion: Rhodes, Holt, Guiry, Gay, McManus, Fox, Poole, Hayton, Tracey (Patterson), Thompson (Kelly), Lucas. Subs not used: Quinn, Taylor, Wood.
