OSSETT Albion are just 90 minutes away from entering the FA Cup at its First Round Proper stage.
The Dimple Wells club make the short trip to Blue Square North Bradford Park Avenue tomorrow (kick-off 3pm) in the Fourth Qualifying Round looking to secure an historic place in the competition beyond the qualifying stages.
Victory would give Albion the chance to face a lucrative date with Football League opposition such as Coventry City or Sheffield United in the next round.
Albion will be firm underdogs going into the clash, however, thanks to plying their trade two steps lower than their hosts but have caused cup upsets already this season.
They defeated Hinckley United, who also play in the Blue Square North, over two matches in the last round and beat North Ferriby United, who play a division higher than Albion, in the round before.
Saturday’s clash at the Horsfall Stadium will be their toughest task yet, however, against a Park Avenue side sitting ninth in the table and coming into the game unbeaten in three matches.
Phil Thompson’s men will also have to show big improvements from their midweek league defeat at home against local rivals Wakefield FC.
If a replay is required the scheduled date is expected to be next Tuesday at Dimple Wells with a 7.45pm kick-off.
