OSSETT Town boss Craig Elliott will name a strong side for tonight’s Doodson Sport Cup first round match against Belper Town at Stade France (kick-off 7.45pm).

Some managers may have opted to rest players ahead of a festive schedule that brings four matches in eleven days, but Elliott is eager to do well in the competition and says he will not make big changes.

“It’s another cup and it’s another cup we want to do well in,” said Elliott, who guided his side to an FA Trophy first round date at Stockport County last month.

“In all honesty I’d rather have a midweek competitive cup match than take training, especially after having so many matches called off recently.

“We want to progress and Belper are a good team who are doing well in their division so we need to put a strong team out.

“There will be a couple of changes from the weekend but there won’t be many.”

Elliott has confirmed that Jimmy Eyles and Keir Hannity will both start after impressing as substitutes in the 2-2 draw against Warrington Town at the weekend.

New signings Fernando Moke and Luke Sherry, who have both arrived at Stade France from Garforth Town, are also eligible to feature but the Town boss expects more involvement from the pair at Mossley this weekend.

It will be the third time the sides have tried to play the contest, with the last two schedule fixtures falling victim of the weather.

Belper sit eighth in Evo-Stik Division 1 South and have won their last two matches.
