Ossett Town will aim to reproduce their West Riding County Cup form of last season and go one step further this year when they kick-off the competition at home against Tadcaster Albion at Ingfield tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).

Town reached the semi-final stage last season and missed out on a final date against Guiseley at Bradford City’s Valley Parade ground when they suffered defeat against FC Halifax Town at the last four stage.

Boss Craig Elliott will be hoping for more of the same a year on and he will also be keen for a big response from his men after suffering a 6-1 home loss against Darlington 1883 in the FA Trophy on Saturday.

The defeat was Town’s first in ten games and victory over Northern Counties East League (NCEL) side Tadcaster will be just the tonic for Saturday’s heavy loss.

District rivals Ossett Albion and Wakefield FC also enter the competition at the first round stage tonight.

Albion visit NCEL side Glasshoughton Welfare while Wakefield FC make the short trip to Garforth Town. Both matches kick-off at 7,45pm.
