OSSETT Town face a stern test of character in the next five days when they take on the Evo-Stik Division 1 North top two.
Eric Gilchrist’s side visit second-placed AFC Fylde tomorrow, Saturday (kick-off 3pm), before welcoming leaders Curzon Ashton to Stade France on Tuesday night (kick-off 7.45pm).
The games will complete a quartet of matches against Lancashire opposition and Town will target a positive points return after picking up a win and a defeat from their previous two outings.
Games against Clitheroe and Radcliffe Borough, sides below Town in the table, highlighted the inconsistencies in their performances this term.
Gilchrist collected his first win since taking sole control of the side on Saturday when they saw off Clitheroe 2-0 on home soil. Martyn Scully and Ryan Laight scored the Town goals.
They failed to follow-up their weekend win at Radcliffe Borough in midweek, however, as Matthew Chadwick’s 50th-minute strike proved enough for the hosts.
Town will need to be at their best to upset the form book at Fylde tomorrow and will be looking for a bumper support for Tuesday night’s clash with leaders Curzon at Stade France.
Ossett Albion will hope to continue their push for Evo-Stik Division 1 North safety tomorrow, Saturday, when they welcome Warrington Town to the Warehouse Systems Stadium (kick-off 3pm).
Albion bagged a convincing 3-1 win at Woodley Sports at the weekend to make it back-to-back victories, and will target a winning treble against Warrington.
Wakefield FC’s battle for survival continues at Stade France on Saturday when they welcome play-off chasing Lancaster City (kick-off 3pm).
