OSSETT Town have been given a plum draw in the first round of the FA Trophy with a trip to Blue Square Premier side Stockport County.

Town deservedly edged out Blue Square Bet North side Workington Town 2-1 at Stade France in the third qualifying round on Saturday and their reward is a trip to the 11,000 all-seater Edgeley Park.

The Hatters, who sit mid-table in the Blue Square Premier, will be firm favourites to progress against an Ossett side who ply their trade three divisions lower in Evo-Stik League Division 1 North.

But the Stade France side could be in for a big payday with FA Trophy gate receipts being split evenly between both clubs and County regularly pulling in around 3,000 supporters.

Craig Elliott’s men also beat higher-division opposition in Workington in the last round, meaning his men will make the trip to County full of confidence.

The match is due to take place on Saturday, November 24 with a 3pm kick-off.
