OSSETT Town warmed up for their big FA Trophy first round match at Stockport County on Saturday by securing a passage to the semi-finals of the West Riding County Cup on Tuesday night.
Craig Elliott’s men beat Knaresborough Town 2-1 at Stade France but needed extra-time to progress - something Town could have done without ahead of their Edgeley Park tie.
Andrew Catton fired the hosts into a first-half lead in the quarter-final clash but West Yorkshire League Knaresborough levelled eight minutes after the restart through Paul Eagling.
An extra 30 minutes was required and Milnes made sure Town went into the clash with the Hatters on the back of a victory with a goal in the 100th minute.
The win was Ossett’s third on the spin in all competitions and will put them in confident mood ahead of the Stockport match.
