Ossett Town boss Craig Elliott has bolstered his squad with eight new signings.

Former Sheffield Wednesday youngster Nick Wood, brother of Ossett-born Richard Wood, arrives at Ingfield after spending last season on contract at Mickleover Sports.

Elliott has raided Staveley MW for midfielders Richard Patterson and Andrew Fox, who both played roles in helping Welfare to the semi-finals of the FA Vase last season.

Versatile left-footer Will McGhie has signed from Worksop Parramore, while attacking right-back Scott McGory, a former Barnsley professional, has also agreed to join the Evo-Stik Premier League club.

Elliott has also looked to youth, with academy players Joe Hitch and Rich Mack stepping up to the first team for the forthcoming campaign.

Town will welcome back Keir Hannity until he travels to America to study and Elliott is also in talks with “two or three” players to remain at the club as Town target continued improvements under Elliott next season.
