SLIDESHOW: Match action from Wakefield FC’s home defeat against Lancaster City

Wakefield FC failed to halt their ten-game winless run when they went down 4-1 at home against Lancaster City on Saturday.

The defeat leaves Paul Lines and his men looking over their shoulders at the Evo-Stik Division 1 North relegation spots with eight games to go this season.

Two David Swarbrick goals in six first-half minutes saw Lancaster 2-0 up at half-time but Lee Turner gave the Bears hope with a goal straight a minute after the restart.

Wakefield could not breakthrough the City defence for a second time, however, and goals from Daniel Gregson and Darren Green ensured victory for the visitors.
