IT WAS a weekend to forget for the district’s three Evo-Stik Premier League clubs as all three fell to defeat in Division 1 North.
Ossett Albion conceded six goals for the second week running as they went down 6-2 at Mossley.
Dale Kelly got the Warehouse Systems Stadium club back in the game after Cameron Darkwah and Joe Heap had fired the hosts into an early 2-0 lead.
But Kelly’s strike didn’t see Albion mount a comeback as Darkwah went on to complete his hat-trick, Heap added a second and Cavell Coo wrapped up the emphatic victory.
Marc Thompson scored on his debut late on for Albion but it did little to lift the spirits from a bad day at the office.
Ossett Town went down to a disappointing 1-0 home defeat against Durham City.
David Dowson scored the decisive goal six minutes into the second half to leave Phil Sharpe’s men licking their wounds.
Christopher Almond struck twice to give Skelmersdale United a 3-1 victory over on-song Wakefield FC.
Shaun Tuck also found the back of the net for United, while Demi Kyriacou scored a last-minute consolation for the Bears.
The trio will be looking ton bounce straight back with league matches taking place midweek.
Albion host Radcliffe Borough on Tuesday, while Town visit Harrogate Railway Athletic (both kick-off at 7.45pm).
Wakefield are back in action on Wednesday when they host Trafford at Stade France (kick-off 7.45pm).
