WAKEFIELD FC matched unbeaten Skelmersdale United, drawing 1-1 in their Evo-Stik Division 1 North clash at Stade France on Saturday but the Bears were unfortunate not to get all three points.
Both sides created chances but it was the hosts who finally broke the deadlock five minutes into the second half when Nick Hegarty’s dangerous cross was turned into his own net by Rob McIntosh.
United got back onto level terms through Paul Woolcott’s drive on 72 minutes but the visitors were forced to defend when Woolcott was sent off for a second booking only three minutes later.
Wakefield pushed forward in search of the winner but United held firm to maintain their unbeaten run.
Elsewhere, Ossett Albion remain rooted to the bottom of the division after going down 4-1 at home to Mossley.
Nathan Neequaye fired the visitors ahead on 13 minutes before Cameron Darkwah’s brace extended Mossley’s lead to 3-0 at the break.
Darol Lucas opened Albion’s account eight minutes after the resumption but Osebi Abadaki bagged a fourth for Mossley in the dying minutes.
Three goals in six second-half minutes consigned Ossett Town to a 3-2 defeat at Durham City.
Neil Towler’s goal on the half-hour put Town ahead only for City to turn things around with quick-fire strikes from Amar Purewal, Stephen Thompson and Arjun Purewal after the break.
Ross Wilkinson’s own goal three minutes from time gave Town some hope but City held on for the points.
