SHEQUILLE Clarke hit a late winner for Wakefield FC as Paul Lines’s men grabbed a vital victory at Lancaster City on Saturday.

Clarke struck three minutes from time to give the Bears just their second Evo-Stik Division 1 North win of the season. It was also their second win at Lancaster’s Giant Axe home after Wakefield won 2-1 in the FA Trophy last month.

The win moves Wakefield up to 18th in the table ahead of Tuesday night’s short trip to Ossett Albion (kick-off 7.45pm).

Albion also left it late to grab something for their efforts at home against Burscough.

Liam Caddick gave the Lancashire side a first-half lead before Henry Owen scored with six minutes to go to ensure a point for the hosts.

Ossett Town pushed high-flying Trafford all the way before eventually going down 2-1.

Simon Baldry had levelled a Shelton Payne opener but Michael Oates scored with 12 minutes to left to give Trafford maximum points.
