WAKEFIELD FC will aim to cause an FA Cup upset today when they host Kendal Town in the 2nd qualifying round (kick-off 3pm).

The Bears are just three wins away from achieving their dream of playing alongside Football League clubs in the first round proper but face a tough test against higher-division opposition.

The game will take place at Garforth Town’s Genix Healthcare Stadium due to Ossett Town, who they groundshare with, hosting Garforth on the same day in Evo-Stik Division 1 North.

Bears boss Steve Nicholson will be hoping it proves a happy hunting ground for his men as they target a shock FA Cup win against the Premier Division side.

Ossett Town have the chance to break into the Division 1 North play-off spots if they beat Garforth and other results go their way (kick-off 3pm).

Phil Sharpe’s men drew 2-2 at Salford City and have enjoyed an encouraging start to their new campaign.

He’ll be hoping his side can build on that point in Lancashire when West Yorkshire rivals Garforth visit.

Ossett Albion have a weekend with no competitive action.
