Wakefield midfielder Duane Holmes produced a hugely promising display in his first team debut for Huddersfield Town last night, Tuesday.
The 18 year-old came off the bench during the Terriers’ 1-0 loss at Hull in the third round of the League Cup.
While the result may have been disappointing, Holmes caused Hull’s defence all sorts of problems after coming on and was one of the stand-out players within Mark Robins’ team.
Nick Proschwitz’s strike on the hour gave Hull the edge over a much-changed Town side but Holmes, who has scored three goals in five starts for Terriers U21s this season, expressed his delight on Twitter.
He posted: “Disappointing result but so happy to make my debut. Thought the lads done great against a strong Hull team.”
