FORMER Wakefield Trinity Wildcats winger Kevin Penny is on trial with Sale Sharks.
The jet-heeled winger had signed for Co-operative Championship club Swinton Lions for the 2012 season but he could be set for a switch of codes with the Aviva Premiership Sharks.
The 24-year-old has been looking to impress the Sale coaches by playing for their youth and second team recently in a bid to earn a contract at Edgeley Park.
Penny was a flop at Wakefield, signing in the 2011 pre-season from Warrington Wolves but making just one appearance for the club, scoring one try. A loan move to Widnes Vikings followed but Penny's time in the red, white and blue was a brief one.
