FORMER Wakefield Wildcat Kevin Henderson is set to sign for Leigh Centurions.

The Scotland international, who spent six years at Wakefield and made over 100 appearances, had been playing in France’s Elite One Championship with Montpellier.

A number of clubs were in for his signature, with Henderson’s former Wildcats team-mate Jason Demetriou offering him a deal to join Keighley Cougars.

But Demetriou said the 31-year-old received an offer from Co-operative Championship rivals Centurions that was “too good to turn down”.

Also at Leigh, former Wakefield prop Ricky Bibey has announced his retirement from the game due to injury.

The 30-year-old has been suffering from an ongoing achilles tendon injury and has stopped playing on specialist advice.

Bibey played his last game on Friday, March 30 when he helped Leigh to victory over York City Knights.

The former St Helens and Wigan Warriors man spent three years at Wakefield, chalking up 60 appearances.
