OSSETT-based motorsport constructors Team WFR wrapped up a superb season on the track with a hat-trick of victories for rider Graeme Gowland in the final race of the BSB (British Superbike) Evo Championship at Brands Hatch at the weekend.

With WFR rider Glen Richards cementing the 2011 BSB Evo Championship title at Silverstone in the penultimate round, team-mate Gowland showed they hadn’t taken their foot off the gas with wins in all three races at the famous circuit.

Following a great qualifying session all three riders made a great start in Race 1, with Gowland storming to victory in the Evo class and Richards following hot on his heels in second. James Westmoreland finished 14th overall.

It was more of the same in Race 2 on Sunday as Gowland came out on top in the Evo class to make it two wins out of two, while Westmoreland finished eighth overall.

Richards, however, saw his season come to an end in disappointing fashion when he came off on lap ten and had to be taken to hospital for further checks on a bruised shoulder and a minor internal injury.

Gowland completed his treble with victory in Race 3, Westmoreland again finishing eighth overall to bring the Evo Championship to a close.

Managing Director Myles Schofield said; “I would just like to thank everyone who played a part in the success Team WFR has had this year. This means all of our partners and suppliers who ensure that we have everything we need to build championship wining bikes, but mostly to the team members who have worked amazingly hard all year.

“I’d like to also thank Glen, Graeme and James, as well as Alex Lowes and Jake Zemke, who have all played their part in the development of the team and ultimately taken us to glory.

“We are testing abroad at the end of the month and are already executing our plans for 2012. At the moment we have made no official decisions about our rider line up or even how many riders we might have, but again this is something we are currently discussing and hope to have something finalised pretty soon.”
