LEEDS United legends will descend on Hemsworth MW FC this Sunday in a benefit match for former Welfare player Mick Crapper (kick-off 2pm).
Crapper suffered a serious injury while playing for the club 20 years ago and former Whites such as Gary McAllister, Lee Sharpe and Simon Grayson could feature against a Hemsworth XI including current players and staff as well as Crapper’s former team-mates this weekend.
The match is part of a family day at the MDC Sports Stadium in Fitzwilliam, which will also include Hemsworth MW Ladies playing a league match at 11am.
The Hemsworth MW XI v Leeds United Legends match will kick-off at 2pm and Andy Ritchie, Brendan Ormsby and Glynn and Ian Snodin are all expected to play a part.
Welfare manager Wayne Benn will swap the dugout for the pitch and line-up for the hosts.
Fans will be able to get autographs after the match and there will be a bouncy castle, face painting and refreshments.
Local bands Complete Madness and Dolly Mix will also perform after the match.
Tickets are available on the day priced at £5 for adults, £2.50 for under-21s and OAPs and £1 for under-12s and the club is hoping for a bumper turnout.
