Jones-Bishop and Lyne at the double as Wakefield Trinity edge Huddersfield Giants

Wakefield Trinity made it four wins on the spin in Betfred Super League with a dramatic 28-26 win over Huddersfield Giants.

Ben Jones-Bishop gave the hosts the perfect start with a try on two minutes, Liam Finn adding the goal.

Giants hit back with two tries in six minutes from Jake Mamo and Jermaine McGillvary, improved by Martyn Ridyard.

And the visitors went 18-6 up midway through the half when Lee Gaskell crossed and Ridyard goaled.

But Trinity ended the half in style and tries from Reece Lyne and Danny Kirmond, the latter converted by Finn, cut the deficit to two points at the break.

Dale Ferguson scored the first try of the second period, Ridyard again on target with the goal, only for Trinity to respond through Lyne’s second and Finn’s goal.

Ridyard’s penalty on 67 minutes made it 26-22 to Giants but back came Trinity and Jones-Bishop bagged his second, converted by Sam Williams, nine minutes from time to clinch victory.
