Durkar Devils U15s showed great spirit to earn a point in an entertaining derby league game with local rivals Thornes Juniors Reds.

Despite having two important defensive players missing, Durkar took a two-goal lead in the first half through a penalty from Captain Danny Tunningley and a second from Lukas Kiss before Thornes hit back just before half time.

Thornes then took the lead with two second-half goals before Durkar fought back to level the game through Ben Lewis.

The Conservatory Outlet man of the match went to defender Connor Westmoreland who made several telling last ditch tackles and goal line clearances.
