SANDAL will need to cut out basic errors from their game if they are to maintain their unbeaten home record in National Three North.
West Hartlepool visit Milnthorpe Green today, Saturday, and coach Jim Kilfoyle has been training his troops hard in a bid to eradicate the errors that proved costly at Rossendale last weekend.
Kilfoyle’s men led 13-5 early in the second half only to hand possession, and ultimately the game, to the hosts who triumphed 18-13.
West Hartlepool have won just one of their first three matches so far but will provide a solid challenge should they regain the form that saw them finish two places higher in the league than Sandal last season.
Unavailable centre Mark Pease is replaced by Dan McCormack and second row Rob Overton returns. Prop Ash Norbury rotates with brother Luke who moves into the Cougars squad to get game time under his belt.
The Cougars are also in action at Milnthorpe Green on Saturday and they will be hoping to protect their status at the top of the Yorkshire Premier League when they take on Hull.
Sandal 1sts squad v West Hartlepool (home, kick off 3pm): T Coad, A Orr, S Frewin, D McCormack, D Martin, J Ellar, G Wood, G Newman, J Purcell, J Heron, R Norbury, A Norbury, A Thompson, R Overton, J Stewart, S Maguire, J Gatus, S Whittingham.
