Agar: Wakefield Wildcats ‘really dejected’ after defeat to Hull KR

HEAD coach Richard Agar revealed that his Wakefield Trinity Wildcats team were ‘really dejected’ following their 22-10 Stobart Super League XVII loss to Hull KR yesterday, Sunday.

Trinity were looking to bag their second successive victory in their first home outing of the campaign but slipped to defeat despite boasting more possession and a territorial advantage in the second half.

The sin-binning of Rovers’ Scott Taylor shortly after the interval heralded a Wakefield charge but they failed to make the pressure count and Hull broke to score twice in the second half.

Agar said: “It was always going to be a game of few chances.

“We will probably look back on the sin-bin period as one that we could have handled a bit smarter.”

However, Agar also took positives out of the game. “We were playing a top-eight team with aspirations of higher and we have competed with them all the way,” he said.

“There were good signs that we can compete with these teams. Over 80 minutes we had our chances and there wasn’t a lot in it.”
