Bears bow out as Albion progress in FA Cup
OSSETT Albion secured FA Cup progression with a 4-0 win at Selby Town but Wakefield FC crashed out with a 3-2 home loss against Ashington.
Albion were rampant winners at Selby in the preliminary round, sealing their first win of the new season in fine style.
But the Bears, who were looking towards a positive run in this year's prestigious competition, will have to wait another year in the FA Cup after Ashington inflicted defeat on Ronnie Glavin's men at College Grove.
Ossett Town were in Evo-Stik Premier League action and they drew 0-0 at home against Matlock Town, their second stalemate without a goal in four days, to continue their unbeaten start to the campaign.
The trio are back in action on Bank Holiday Monday when Wakefield FC make the trip to Ossett Albion for a local derby in Division 1 North, while Ossett Town travel to Bradford Park Avenue, both kick-off at 3pm.
