Bears look to inflict FA Cup 'giant killing' on Fleetwood Town
WAKEFIELD FC will be looking to inflict an FA Cup 'giant killng' over Blue Square North side Fleetwood Town in the 2nd Qualifying Round on Saturday.
Ronnie Glavin's Bears are three wins away from entering the prestigious competition in the First Round Proper - which could pit them against sides such as Leeds United, Huddersfield Town and Leicester City.
But Glavin and his troops won't be looking too far ahead just yet, and will be preparing as underdogs for the tough clash with Lancashire side Fleetwood Town at College Grove on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
Wakefield have swept aside Northern League club's Crook Town and Stokesley Sports Club en route to their meeting with the Highbury Stadium club.
Both ties were played on home soil, and the Bears will be hoping they came make it a hat-trick on FA Cup wins at College Grove on Saturday, with a big travelling support from Fleetwood expected.
The Blue Square North side are in a transition period following the departure of former boss Tony Greenwood - who helped them to two promotions through the UniBond Premier League - with new manager Mickey Mellon taking charge of his troops for the first time at the weekend.
And the Bears will be hoping they can take full advantage of the changes at the top at Town, and progress to the 3rd Qualifying Round with victory on Saturday.
