Christmas crackers in store for UniBond Premier League trio

OSSETT Town, Ossett Albion and Wakefield FC will all be hoping for late Christmas presents when they return to action on Boxing Day.

All three are looking for crucial points for differing reasons and will be keen to pick up points on Friday.

Ossett Town welcome local rivals Frickley Athletic to Ingfield in the UniBond Premier Division (kick-off 3pm) looking for points to help steer them clear of the relegation spots.

Simon Collins has guided his men to their best form of the season but will come up against a side in similar good form, with the Blues having gone unbeaten in their last seven league matches.

In Division 1 North, Ossett Albion will be looking for more points to prove their promotion credentials when they make the tough trip to The Shay to take on table-topping FC Halifax Town.

Victory for Eric Gilchrist's men could see them climb to the top of the table should Bamber Bridge fail to equal their result, though Albion will be up against it against a Halifax side desperate for instant promotion for the Premier Division.

Ronnie Glavin's Wakefield FC still have work to do to catch the Division 1 North play-off hopefuls but are going in the right direction following three wins on the spin.

Garforth Town make the trip to College Grove on Friday looking to put an end to that run, but Glavin will be confident of more success as the Bears go into the clash with no injury worries.
