Elston leaves Wakefield Wildcats for role at Hull KR

WAKEFIELD Wildcats' community and marketing director James Elston is leaving the club to take up a new post with Hull KR.

In his seven years at Wakefield, Elston has helped to develop the club's thriving community department and been a figurehead of the Wildcats' community trust that was officially granted charity status in November 2007.

Elston was elected to the board of directors in February 2008 and his contribution was recognised by Wildcats' chairman Ted Richardson who said: "We are all sad to see James leave but he goes with our best wishes and we wish him every success in the future.

"James has played a key role in the development of a number of facets at the club and particularly within our work in the community which is something that continues to grow."

Richardson added: "His knowledge and enthusiasm has been passed onto everyone he has worked with and he leaves the community and marketing department in a very strong position to move forward and continue with the great work they are already doing."

Initially, Elston's role will be covered in-house until the club finds a suitable individual for the position.
