Evans at the double as Curzon Ashton pile more misery on Ossett Albion
ON THE SCORESHEET: Ossett Albion skipper Adam Hayton scored at Curzon Ashton but it wasn't enough to help his side bag anything for their efforts
OSSETT Albion’s poor run of form continued on Monday night as they suffered a fifth defeat on the spin with a 3-2 loss at Curzon Ashton.
The Dimple Wells club travelled across the Pennines for their second Evo-Stik Division 1 North match in three days but returned with the same outcome after suffering a last-gasp 2-1 loss at Burscough on Saturday.
Albion were always in with a shout of getting something from their clash with Curzon after skipper Adam Hayton provided an immediate reply to Tony Evans’s 18th-minute opener for the mid-table hosts.
Evans struck again just before the hour mark and Kristian Dennis had John Flanagan’s men seemingly home and dry with a third goal with 17 minutes to play.
Battling Albion continued to plug away for something to show for their efforts and Dale Kelly pulled a goal back just a minute after Dennis’s strike to make it a tense finish.
The hosts hung on, however, to leave Albion third from bottom and with just two wins from their last ten matches in all competitions.
