Eyles continues goalscoring form but Ossett Town crash out of cup at Carlton

OSSETT Town crashed out of the Doodson Sport Cup at the second round stage on Wednesday night when they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Carlton Town.

All the goals came in eleven second-half minutes and it was the Evo-Stik Division 1 South hosts who progressed.

Jimmy Eyles briefly had Ossett on level terms with his seventh goal in as many matches after Luke Smithson had fired Carlton into a 66th-minute lead.

But, just six minutes after Eyles’s strike, Ruben Wiggins-Thomas bagged Carlton’s winner.
