FORMER Leeds Carnegie and Leeds Rhinos forward Simon Worrall is helping Sandal in their push for promotion from National 3 North.

Doncaster-born Worrall, 28, most recently played for Toulouse Olympique but has been forced to retire from rugby league through injury.

However, he is now a forwards coach at Sandal and his involvement has been a boost at Milnthorpe Green, according to head coach Jim Kilfoyle, who said: “Simon has brought a lot of enthusiasm and knowledge.

“It is great to have someone who can bring different views to the club.”

Worrall, who was a rising star as a flanker at Leeds Carnegie, switched codes to play at the Rhinos where he made his first team debut against Harlequins in March, 2008 and scored his first try for the club in a 58-12 win over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
