Gilchrist targets first win as Ossett Town manager

ERIC Gilchrist will target his first win as manager of Ossett Town today when Clitheroe visit Stade France (kick-off 3pm).

The former Ossett Albion boss took control of the Town team after the club parted company with Phil Sharpe last week.

Gilchrist worked alongside Sharpe rather than as his assistant but now has sole control following Sharpe’s departure.

His first match in charge finished in defeat on Tuesday night against Farsley FC but the visit of Clitheroe give’s Town a better chance of success.

The Lancashire side’s last league outing was at Stade France, when they drew 3-3 with Wakefield FC a fortnight ago.

Wakefield FC return to action today at Salford City.

The Bears ended an unwanted run of eight defeats on the spin last time out with their draw against Clitheroe.

Wakefield boss Paul Lines is looking for his men to build on that point and says the game against Salford is a “winnable” one.

Ossett Albion will go into today’s game at Woodley Sports full of confidence following their 3-2 win at Garforth Town in midweek.

The victory moved the Dimple Wells club five points clear of the relegation zone and they’ll be keen to extend that further today.
