Huddersfield Giants recall Danny Kirmond from Wakefield Wildcats
HUDDERSFIELD Giants have recalled back-row forward Danny Kirmond from his loan spell with Wakefield Wildcats.
The 25-year-old was due to remain at Belle Vue until the end of the season when he arrived on a season-long loan as part of the deal that saw Danny Brough go in the other direction.
But Kirmond will play no part in Wakefield's final game of the Super League season at Salford City Reds this weekend after his loan spell was cut short.
Giants have made the decision in preparation for their Super League play-off campaign.
Giants managing director Richard Thewlis said: "We need to have as strong a squad as possible for the challenges ahead.
"For Danny to be able to play a full part every training session with us is vital for him."
Wildcats' chief-executive James Elston said: "Danny has been an excellent loan signing for the Wildcats and we'd like to place on record our appreciation of his service to our club.
"We're in the process of rebuilding our team and will be concentrating on developing on our own young talent for the future.
"We wish Danny every success for the future."
Kirmond will travel with the rest of the Huddersfield squad to France for their final clash of the regular season against Catalans Dragons this weekend.
