Huddersfield Town striker Tom Denton returns to Wakefield FC on loan
WAKEFIELD FC have brought former striker Tom Denton back to College Grove on a one-month loan deal from Huddersfield Town.
The 20-year-old signed for the Bears today after seeing a loan move to a Football League club fall through at the last minute.
He'll go straight into the Wakefield squad to face local rivals Liversedge in the West Riding County Cup at College Grove tomorrow night (kick-off 7.45pm).
"He was going to go to a club in the Football League but they got someone else in at the very last minute," said Wakefield managing director Pete Bevils.
"Huddersfield have always said that he can come back to us because they know he'll get games and that we'll look after him well."
Boss Ronnie Glavin said: "We're absolutely delighted to have the big man back.
"We obviously know him well and I'm looking forward to working with him again. Fantastic news and a real lift for the club."
Denton returns on an initial one-month deal, but Wakefield could have the chance to extend his stay beyond that.
The League 1 promotion hopefuls are paying all of Denton's wages during his stay at Wakefield.
The 6ft 6in striker has enjoyed loan spells with Woking and Cheltenham Town since making his dream move to the Terriers under former boss Stan Ternent.
But he's fallen down the pecking order under Lee Clark with 18 months still to run on his current deal at the Galpharm Stadium.
